Senior Game Software Engineer

Job Description
Sixense Studios is searching for an experienced and self-motivated game development software engineer.  Our focus is to develop innovative and fun motion control gameplay experiences.  The successful candidate must be able to work independently and with minimal supervision.  She should be a generalist and feel comfortable with all aspects of game programming.  The candidate must be an experienced console developer, and any motion control development experience would be a huge bonus.  Most importantly, she should be a proactive self-starter who thrives in a small studio environment where she can take on the greater responsibilities involved.

Responsibilities Include
• Prototype, design, and implement new motion control gameplay features
• Tackle ANY necessary programming tasks required to ship
• Work closely with designers and artists to implement and debug game features
• Review new product requirements, provide feedback, and contribute to project planning activities

Job Requirements
• At least 3+ years game development industry experience
• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Science, Math, or Engineering
• C/C++
• Shipped at least one Xbox 360 or PS3 title
• Self-starting and a high level of professional responsibility
• Strong technical and communication skills

Additional Desired Skills
• Motion control development experience (Razer Hydra, Sony Move, Microsoft Kinect, and/or Nintendo Wii)
• At least 5+ years game development industry experience
• Shipped multiple titles on Xbox 360, PS3, and PC
• Source Engine experience a plus
• Passion for video games

DSP Programmer

Job Requirements
• Minimum 5 years’ experience programming digital signal processors.
• Knowledge of analog to digital converters with at least 6 channels at 24 bits per channel.
• Experience with multiple channel discrete Fourier transforms in 3 dimensional applications.
• Background converting 3 dimensional matrices to 4-tuple quaternions.
• Capable of end to end digital signal processor timing and bandwidth analysis. Timing from the input analog signals, analog to digital converter sample rates, discrete Fourier transform processing time, matrix conversion processing to output data.
• Can perform system signal to noise and accuracy calculations.
• Experience with low level digital signal processor initialization, including DMA channels and matrix register set usage.
• Ability to participate in digital signal processor and tightly coupled analog to digital converter selection. Including sampling rate, data buffering and processing requirements.

Be prepared to discuss
• Digital signal processors they have written code for.
• Analog to digital converters they have interfaced.
• Development tools they are familiar with.
• Tools they have used for filter analysis.
• White board signal to noise and filter calculations.

Senior Analog Electrical Engineer
San Francisco, CA

Job Description
The Sixense Hardware Engineering department is searching for a self-motivated, hands-on, experienced system design professional with strong analog expertise as well as experience and interest in complete, board level, implementations including analog to digital converters and digital signal processors. The successful candidate will be able to rapidly prototype concepts and quickly understand design tradeoffs. Fundamental functions include input from a specialized sensor followed by amplification and filtering, analog to digital convertor, and digital signal processing. Complete systems further include power generation and management, RF communication, USB interface, and general purpose MCU controls.

Responsibilities include
• Lead development of architectural specifications and part selection for overall hardware systems.
• Complete system design with special focus on analog front ends consisting of appropriate amplification and filter stages.
• Design power generation and power management functions for both AC and battery powered products
• Review new product requirements, provide feedback, and contribute to project planning activities
• Work closely with customers when needed and help respond to their short and long-term needs

Job Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in EE or equivalent (Master’s degree preferred)
• Minimum of 5 years as a system-level integrator and electrical engineer.
• Detailed understanding of analog to digital converter implementations and trade-offs.

• Basic knowledge of physics and mathematics
• Proven track record of developing electronic systems for shipping products.
• DFx (Design for cost, test manufacturing) expertise.
• Proficient with HW lab equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, and signal generators.
• Extensive experience with hardware bring-up of complete system level designs.
• Precision analog and mixed-signal hardware circuit design expertise.
• Power management experience and an understanding of design tradeoffs (LDO’s, switched-mode power supplies, battery operated designs).
• Expert in schematic capture and layout with tools such as OrCad and Allegro.
• Experience with cost efficient RISC and ARM processors.
• Working knowledge of standard electrical interfaces such as USB, SPI, and I2C.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, ability to document test results, design changes, specifications compliance

Additional Desired Skills
• Extensive firmware development experience.
• Knowledge of RF communication standards and products (2.4GHz, Bluetooth, etc)
• Proficiency in basic soldering and rework capabilities
• Experience with 8051 microcontrollers
• Experience with SPI bus
• Ability to layout critical analog circuits if necessary
• Analog/Board Simulation (ie SPICE)
• Experienced in designing for high volume, low cost manufacturing
• Proficiency in C programming.
• MS in Electrical Engineering or related field
