    Jitter?! Thread

    Hi,
I think my unit is faulty, would like to know if this is normal behaviour at disabled filter.
In desktop mode it looks like the cursor is rather jumping to its destination, its not a fluid movement, like it has some sort of lag. But its certainly not a frame issue.
when playing the cursor jitters a little even when the controllers are not moving.
Tried it at a different location with the same results, also tried to disable the base lightning, switching off lights and 3 different monitors. When i play at medium filter settings, it is very well playable, but the response time is too high.
Here's a demonstration Video in Crysis 2, the first couple of seconds the right controller is resting on the base, but you can notice a little jitter, after that, im moving around a bit, and you can clearly see how it behaves.

(keep in mind that at first it shakes really hard because i have to take it away from the base)

Second problem I have, I noticed on the desktop, sometimes the cursor wont move till a specific "invisible wall" its like the desktop would end there, i can reproduce this if i put the mouse sensivity very low, than i only have a little square where i can move the cursor, the cursor wont leave this square.

    Thank you in advance.

    rescanning doesnt solve the problems

    edit:
Sorry for the inpatience, but an answer would be really appreciated.
Is this "jumping" cursor movement normal or not? Is there a possibility to get rid of it (and of the little jitter of course)?

    sorry for my bad english

ok, now that the trigger squeezes like hell, and i can't get rid of the jitter and the strange cursor movement
i will try to get a new one, hopefully without the problems.

    thanks for the help

I've had similar issues with mine. My best solution has been to simply jack the filter up. It doesn't have the same snappy response that a low filter will yield, but it's pretty darn smooth and makes for an enjoyable experience.

Here's a video I took a while ago with the Hydra with 0 filter: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KeFIiHErb7k

And here's with high filter: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZGx3LKBlsL4

Hopefully you can get a replacement unit, or try the high filter and see if that's good enough for ya.

I had my base near a speaker which caused lots of issues, moved it away from anything magnetic or metallic and it's been fine ever since.

The jitter in the video is normal for no filter. I'm forced to play with a medium filter otherwise I'm being driven nuts with the little screen shakes. Sadly running at medium filter makes hitting moving targets really hard and quite frankly a mind ###. Maybe it's time you guys start looking into a dynamic filter? The more you move the less filter and visa versa.

Crysis 2 in particular had a rather troublesome cursor when we were creating the MCE for it. Have you turned off the mouse smoothing in the games .ini file? This makes this sort of very minor jitter worse.
