    MotionCreator 2.0 beta build 1793

Links to the latest SMCE Razer Hydra beta software are attached to this post.

    INSTALLATION

NOTE: If you have worked on or created any MCEs in your configs directory of your current build, you'll have to move them to Documents/username/Sixense Entertainment/MotionCreator 2/configs/. This is where you should put all of your mce's. Instead of modifying Sixense created mce's, you should duplicate them into the user configs directory and disable the Sixense created mce.

    1. Download the .zip attached to this post. Unzip it using your compression utility. (Free utilities: 7-Zip, WinRar)

    2. Run the setup file.

    3. Run the MotionCreator.exe.

    RELEASE NOTES
This is a beta release for MotionCreator 2.0

    04/21/12 - 2.0.0.1793
    - Added a "Launch Help" option in the Help Menu
    - Fixed mouse_move_vert_sensitivity affecting horzontal joystick sensitivity and mouse_move_horiz_sensitivity affecting vertical sensitivity.
    - Fixed the custom filter not saving or loading custom values correctly.
    - Included a very very early version of a GUI editor for editing MCE's

A few notes about the editor:
You can find a shortcut to the editor in the start menu under Sixense Entertainment\MotionCreator 2\MotionCreator Editor. The interface isn't set in stone but it is almost fully functional. The editor can load, create and save .mce files. When loading from an existing .mce the format WILL NOT not be preserved and all comments will be lost when saving the file. It is recommended that you duplicate an mce and work on it instead of your master mce file. There is no Grid interface as of yet. Surely there are bugs and the editor is far from complete, but I know there are a lot of people that really want to be able to use a gui.

I also did not associate mce file types with the editor yet.

Somehow it doesn't work for me. I uninstalled the previous version, installed the new one and when i start it, it only lasts for few seconds and then closes itself automatically, without displaying any errors.

Are you sure it wasn't just minimized? Check the system tray. MotionCreator remembers the last window state even when reinstalling.

I'm sure. I just got back to older version and it worked as it should. I have uninstalled old one again, and installed new one - the same problem. The new one doesn't have any tray icon even during these few seconds, after which the main window just closes (the process is closed - it just disappears from process explorer).

I am not sure what to say at this point. Let us see if anyone else is having any issues.

Just to be clear though, you aren't having issues with this version of MotionCreator?

    Things to try:
    1. Uninstall.
    2. Delete [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Sixense Entertainment\MotionCreator] from your registry
    3. Reinstall
    4. Try running as admin
    5. Turn off UAC
    6. Run the exe not the shortcut.

Thanks for the release! I will play with the editor a bit today and see what I think of it.

I have one request right away... when associating it with game .exes, I'd love the ability to file search for the .exe in question and link it directly like that, while also maintaining the ability to simply type the .exe full name into the field. I'm already opening a a series of folders just to find the .exe just to make sure I have the name right, why not do it all in the editor? That's my 2 cents anyway.

Thanks again though, this is a sign of good things to come

wow, i found a solution to this MCE closing itself! Actually the MCE wasn't closing itself, but it was my antivirus closing it!
I just switched antivirus off and MCE works like a charm. And now it doesn't have this red border as it had while Avast was running.

It would be nice if i could use both Avast and MCE though. My avast is the free edition, program version: 7.0.1407, virus definition: 120422-0. Does somebody know if there's any option in Avast i can check so it won't close my programs?

    I use Avast myself.

    1. Open Avast by right clicking on the Avast Taskbar icon and select Open Avast User Interface.
    2. Select Addition Protection
    3. Select AutoSandbox
    4. Click the settings button next to the SETTINGS description.
    5. Change AutoSandbox Mode to Ask.

Good stuff, I'll add that in.

I've done very little in terms of helpful shortcuts like that. I did wire up controller input for trigger and button press conditions though.

Hey!! I'm so glad to see this gui coming out!
It's pretty intuitive and makes lots of sense as to what does what and how it all works. I was able to make a mce in minutes... making me very glad I just got my hydra on Wednesday.

It would probably be a good idea to create a tooltip for the steam ID box, as that took me 30 minutes to locate online -

To find steam app id, find the game in your steam library, and right click on it's name and select "make desktop shortcut" then look at the desktop shortcut properties, in the url box you'll see
steam://rungameid/[numbers] - the [numbers] are the steam app ID.
