Somtimes i got a soft crash when i fire up the program (i get a crash dialog, but if i just move it out of the way the program works just fine; though if i close the crash dialog the program crashes), but i dunno if this is related to MC, i got a couple other programs that also do that.

And somtimes, the first time i launch MC after booting up, it complains it can't find a Hydra, but if i close and open it again it sees it just fine.

    I'm running WinXP SP3 32bits here.

ps:sorry i didn't report these earlier, a combination of some health issues with just plain getting distracted

    1. MC crashes quite often when i move the base of my hydra. I see normal windows crash dialog, and have to restart the program. Other than this i rarely see any crashes.
    2. When i go to MC=>Edit=>Preferences and choose Filter=>Custom i see the dialog with the value "Near Range" that is not saved for me (all other values are). I pressed default button (it changed the Near Range from 0 to 500, whatever it means), pressed ok twice, and when i go to options again, the near value is still 0. Is it a bug or am i doing something wrong?

Are you running as adminstrator? Did these issues show up with the latest release?
    1. Can you uncheck Check For Updates in preferences and see if that is the root of your soft crash?
    2. Are you launching MotionCreator2 with Windows? The can't find Hydra message will be displayed until the controller manager does its thing. I've noticed that this process takes a moment or two when launching from Windows or when the switching from Gamepad Mode.

    @Kossak
    1. More info on the moving base please. Just moving the base causes a crash? Are the controllers docked when this happens? What profile is active when this happens?
    2. I've fixed the custom filter dialog already.

    Thanks guys

Don't know if this is a bug or not, but if I view the bindings of an mce the buttons are left as they were typed in the mce, not re-translated into plain English. I was pretty sure that this wasn't the case in the previous build... but I could be wrong. Not a huge thing, but wasn't sure if it was a bug so I decided to report it all the same.

EDIT: don't know what happened to the pic, but I must have uploaded it wrong. It's originally 1920 x 1080 lol Here's an example of what I mean:

    Move Camera left
    left_button_trigger AND Press point left
    Key left

    ...hope that's helpful!

EDITEDIT: Just adding quickly, the "Layout" view appears to be displaying button configs correctly in plain terms.

Tried explicitly running as adminstrator, didn't seem to make any difference.

Didn't make a difference; still showed the crash dialog when i disabled the check update.

It also somtimes happens when i launch it quite some time after i booted windows, it seems it isn't only in the first time; somthing i've just noticed now after launching it a bunch of times, is that the "No Hydra Detected" window seems to always show, but it disappears quickly most of the time.

The soft crash happened with previous versions too; but since it's kinda random whether it shows or not i'm not quite sure if it changed frequency; with other programs i think it is more constant though, dunno if that has anything to do with MC. Next time i get the soft crash (seems it knows i wanna debug it and is hidding now, not showing anymore; probably gonna start showing again next boot), do you want me to write down the error number, or go into debugging mode? (i got Visual Studio Express installed, when things crash it offers to debug, if doesn't got the source code, it just shows the assembly instructions; i think it shows more details about the error, not sure thought)

I tried to reproduce the crash while moving the base, but now i couldn't. It didn't crash even once. Maybe it was coincidence. When i notice it again i'll let you know.
