free aim as in control each arm/weapon group as an individual? I wouldn't think so, it would be hard to do at first as I aim with my right hand.. but I think it would give hydra users to much of an advantage..
I think that using the right hand to aim and the left hand to control speed would be ideal.. then the buttons for the different weapon groups (triggers, bumpers) and buttons like radar, power, coolant, zoom, targeting (nearest and next target so 2 buttons) for the rest..
still trying to think of what i'd use the sticks for but if you got the left hand for speed then that would make it so you free up the stick. of course if you used the stick for speed then you basically have full throttle or no throttle.. so I don't see there being "much" of a "in between" for speeds..
I really hope sixense picks up on this and integrates this..
TF2 was pretty good with integration Portal like integration would be amazing in my opinion if its done right..
hope someone at sixense is a diehard Mech fan and pushes this idea REALLY hard..

the way I think that you want, to be able to free aim both arms, would be like piloting a gundam, but these are mechs.. so not so sure how that would all flow together..
interesting idea though

Guess you're right, I've played Mechwarrior Games (almost all of them) and I understand the problem. I think free aim should be given to the right controller for reticle movement for flexible fire control and better mech movement for the left controller. The left controller could be used not only to move the camera but change the mechs direction (if possible).
Regarding speed, one could always use some of the buttons and joystick directions for different speeds. Or else, use the joystick to increase speed or decrease by intervals according to how many times a joystick is pulled up or down.

I got my Hydra for MWO after reading Scar and Pesco posts in other forums, only had it 4 days now but i made a .mce for MW:ll and iam starting to like it . For some one that doesnt do code its been interesting and a bit frustrating at times but overall not bad . When MWO comes out we should make a thread so we can share ideas and setups
cya's on the battlefield

yes that will be amazing.. mw:ll is just not the mech warrior I want it to be.. some of the mechanics are kind of just to out there like the zoom.. that and playing with clan mates is so much better than trying to have the arms race like mw:'ll
my opinion though... I only hope that the hydra can be a suitable controller for mwo like we hope it can be..
I also say direct integration is the best that could happen between the hydra and mwo

i am building a mce. around hybrid mode (i use this mode for MW:LL and WoT)no real problems just got to force mce. as it doesnt start when i start the game

it probably doesn't start with the game because your going through the patcher, the patcher then launches the game..

i'm thinking aiming/torso twist with the right hand and throttle/leg movement with the left hand would be ideal...
thats kinda what happened with MW4:mercs with my Saitek X45 setup.. but I want that with the hydra...
