It repeats a sentence or part of a sentence someone said in a previous post in the thread, same M.O. in all its posts.

ok thats sounds great, nice active forum too!

i will try the new SDK..maybe it was a 64 bit issue with the paused mode thing on the sixense osc server.

i use derivatives touchdesigner fte, its a great great node based program for mangling data (non commercial version FREE!!)...its people from the houdini 3d team, so its really flexible made program! i recommend you to try it!!!

    http://www.touch077.com/Products/

maybe i get the lag because of the 250hz refreshrate. i guess its something on my system.

    to sixense
how about a node based "advanced mode" in motiondesign2 where we can hook up what ever parameter we want to a stream of nodes..with nodes like...filter, math, jitter, statementnode (if pos greater than value then)

and one more thing to sixense (abit off topic sorry)...the demos we saw from youtube...3d modelling tools you picked up cubes with needles n stuff. is that available to download?

time to try the new SDK

    thanks

    whine mode on....
about the SDK...i would prefer to have 2 packages to download in ONE place (this site and/or razer site?)
    1. driver
    2. SDK

    its a mess
have to remember old steam account
    install steam again
    check razer site for driver
    steam for midi and sdk
    this site for motion controller2

steam downloads said i was up to date

    is this link
    http://sixense.com/windowssdkdownload
    same as steam?

why the need to involve steam?

also is the razer driver supposed to run in parallel with the motioncontrol2 program? seems like there is some similar settings...im confused.

    ...whine mode off

    @MrMormon
im using your zip from github now...before i had a zip file called osclr_166.zip. any chance for a new compile with the new sdk MrMormon?? would love some higher resolution on the analog stick.

btw the lag i got was a setup problem with the oscin node in touch designer..had to lower the min max buffers.

anyway the data coming out of this HYDRA is impressive!! this is going to be so fun, experimenting with.

sry for spamming, im exited thats all

You don't need the Razer "driver" to run the SDK or MotionCreator 2.

Steam is in the process of getting updated to the version posted from the sixense link.

The razer driver is an application that does the same thing as the MotionCreator 2 application. The Razer driver is many versions behind. MotionCreator 2 will actually try to shutdown the Razer driver when launched. The MotionCreator 2 has been a beta for us so that we have a way of implementing new features and testing before giving the updates to Razer.

Hm, what is the difference between a device driver and a regular program that talks with a hardware by itself? In other words, at which point does a program that gets inputs from and/or sends outputs to a certain hardware stops being a driver for that hardware?

    thanks for the info Danny!
i have to read up on the motioncreator2 program. just to make everything clear...
the data comes from the controllers in to motioncreator2 (driver) and then to the osc server by MrMormon? or does the osc server bypass motioncreator2.
or do i have to make a game profile in motioncreator2 pointing to the osc server to set sensitivity and modes from motioncreator2 settings?

Soon. What do you plan on using the analog stick data for? Just curious what sort of experiments you have in mind.

oh, many things...i plan on making lots of stuff...better precision is just a nice bonus. compared to the precision on other axis, joystick was not so good.

im going to experiment with this:

    1. like a keyboard extension...for 3d work in maya and other 2d-3d programs..bind alt, ctrl, shift and other hotkeys on the buttons...maybe use a maya hotbox style workflow with the analog stick, then have a wacom tablet on the other side. would be cool to be able to use 6dof as a navigation controller...but i dont think it will work well with the mouse at the same time...or is it??? im thinking 3d connexion space mouse style (i have that on order also btw )) would it be possible to somehow "pipe" data from the HYDRA 6dof into 3dconnexion driver? like a virtual 3dconnexion space mouse? that way it would not interfere with the mouse. perhaps ill try some motion capture in motionbuilder or blender...ohh so many things but so little time.
    2. osc controller for sound shaping.
    3. i have some game ideas also...have to see if there is time in the future.

cool with the new compile...im gonna have an eye on this thread...is it possible to add a update rate flag on your exe? so we can set the update rate in hz via a flag? (250hz as default is good)
    did you try touchdesigner program?

cu man, and thanks again for the osc server

I'll add a command-line option for the update rate.

    @Sixense/Danny

If the joystick and trigger are supposed to have more precision, why do the specs in the new SDK still say they take integer values from 0 to 255? (unsigned char) Or was the last SDK just buggy?
