Thread: Getting Gamepad Mode to Work?

    Getting Gamepad Mode to Work?

Just recieved the Razer Hydra a few days ago and finally getting the chance to play around with it.

The motion controls works pretty well, but whenever I try to play in gamepad mode nothing happens. I select Gamepad Controller in the Razer Hydra Configurator and then I start a game up in Steam, like Fallout New Vegas, and the controller doesn't work so I have to rely on the keyboard and mouse. It works with the motion control but not in gamepad mode. Is there something I'm missing in order to get the Razer Hydra to work in gamepad mode?

It's been confirmed that gamepad mode doesn't work on the Hydra. It has to deal with some software clashing or what-not. Ask the developers for the full details.

    Try this. http://www.sixense.com/forum/phpBB3/....php?f=2&t=573

I'm not sure where you heard that the gamepad mode doesn't work. It does indeed work. I just played Portal 2 in gamepad mode. All I did was open the Razer Configurator and select gamepad mode and pressed the Apply button. I ran Portal2 with the -nosixense flag and then enabled gamepad support in the options.

    What OS are you running.
In Windows 7 go to devices & printers. You should see the Razer Hydra there. Right click on it and select Game controller settings. Then select properties. Then Test. Start pressing buttons/joysticks/triggers and you should see Axis and buttons lighting up.

I installed Fallout NV and couldn't get it to work. I discovered that Fallout NV only supports the XBox 360 controller. I downloaded a xbox 360 controller emulator and got it to work.

Thanks for the speedy responses cookies4you and Danny! I'll have to try those suggestions and get back with my progress. I won't be able to do it this weekend though, got some errands to run. But I will try them. The Razer Hydra is a pretty nifty machine, so I want to make it work perfectly for my gaming.

Thanks again and have a good weekend! C:

Has this issue been addressed or is the Xbox emulator known to work?

I was looking for this - I'm sure that a skin / settings for Dr. Wonko's input wrapper could make the controller behave like a game controller. If I get that set up this week, I'll post it.
