Thread: Fallout New Vegas trouble

    Fallout New Vegas trouble

Strange behavior occurs when I press 'start' on the left controller. If I use Razer Hydra Configurator software it crashes Fallout:NV to desktop.
And if I use Sixense MotionCreator SDK then it doesn't crash, but pressing 'start' behaves like I'm pressing TAB, Esc, or Shift+Tab. Each new pressing of 'start' button gives the result of pressing the next keyboard combination in order. Remapped 'esc' to another Hydra button, but quite interesting what could be the cause of the problem.
Not the last thing to mention that I use Russian version of Nev Vegas (Changed options in Steam), must consider that it's odd itself. Later maybe I'll try to change back to English. But I don't expect changes in connection with keyboard bindings with localization.

P.S.: By default in .MCE 'esc' is bound to left controller 'start'

    Re: Fallout New Vegas trouble

Can you please see if the problem occurs in the latest beta?

Thanks, I think your problem was related to bindings enabling global bindings because I moved the global mce bindings to binding_groups.

hmm.. tried the latest beta. Still the same behavior, at least in Russian version. Some time later I'll try switching language.. I think it could be a problem somehow... I'll post here later when check that.

    Re: Fallout New Vegas trouble

Can you post your mce so I can take a look?

Is it when you hold the left start button that you see this behavior? Holding stArt is a global.mce binding that presses shift+tab. Try renaming that mce and see if your problem goes away?

    Re: Fallout New Vegas trouble

Hmm.. last time I've unpacked zip from the link http://www.sixense.com/forum/phpBB3/...ile.php?id=379
As far as I remember (that was yesterday ) I hadn't changed .mce before launching Fallout:NV.
I think there's no point posting any .mce?
If needed I'll do that later either, when I have time

PS: I'm not holding left start.. just press it. And it behaves like 'esc', 'shift+tab' in order...
    I'll try renaming global.mce either

Well.. Thanks, renaming global.mce removed the problem

That is not what I wanted to hear. What mode are you playing? I can't seem to reproduce your case. Could you try deleting your current beta app directory and download the beta again?

Unpacked Beta software again. The problem exists. I use mouselook mode.

    Re: Fallout New Vegas trouble

Okay can you try the 12/06/11 build that I just posted please.

If the problem persists, can you try the following?

    - Download attached test.mce and put it into your configs folder.
    - Uncheck the Global mce in the app
    - Force the test.mce by right clicking on the config in the game list and select "Force"
    - Open notepad and make it the focused window
    - Quickly tap the Left start button, you should see x being pressed
    - Hold the Left start button, you should see y being pressed, but not x

    Thanks.

Sorry for not answering too long. Had no time, really.

Okay can you try the 12/06/11 build that I just posted please.
I don't understand where it is, can't see the link, just test.mce. But I tried the latest beta release of Motion Creator. The problem still exists.

Yes, the behavior of test.mce is just as what you described.

Considering that global.mce file is involved, it is not just the F:NV trouble. I've just noticed something similar in HL2:Episode 1.

By the way, what could be the possible reason of very often Motion Creator's crashes? The same with Razer Hydra Configurator.
For example, it crashed when I pressed 'rescan' button. If needed I'll try to describe more detailed later, but didn't notice anybody complain about that.
