    Sixense for filmmaking

Hello! I am interested in buying this amaizing gadget only for filmmaking. I don't care about gaming. So, please tell me about the advantages this controller brings to the filmmaker.

I have already seen this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H9ujnzMPBoc and the research engineer mentioned aperture and depth of field controls, which I find absolutely amaizing. Are those features that can be used in all games or only some that allow it?

Nothing? You're not interested in selling this device to filmmakers?

Are you planning on using game engines or 3d software like blender, 3dsMax, or Maya?

Game engines, of course. Maya would give me plenty of camera functionality and features but the overall workflow would be too much considering location and set design.

I am very interested in the depth of field (focus, zoom and aperture) controls, camera movement and blocking which can add imensely to the film look of my production. Can somebody give me some info on those features?

I'm not sure there's going to be much "official" support for camera controls in game engines from sixense. Your more likely to get support from the modding community for each engine.

There's not much market for camera controls for in-engine work.

Judging from the video I linked to in the first post there should be. How about if there are people like me who would buy a game just for filmmaking? They should open up to this kind of market too, cause I don't care about playing. So, if they want my money and other filmmakers' money...

They might add support for professional 3d applications, where there is a much stronger market, as well as higher paying customers. I doubt that sixense is going to develop controls like that for end user use, I think they will probably leave it up to the game development studio to make their engine compatible for dev work.

I'm not saying that tools like that will not exist for the end users, I just think that the modders, and not sixense, are going to be the ones to give them to us.

I would love to be proven wrong though

I want to get a career in movie-making. Would it be a good idea to start out by doing indie films...? I heard somewhere that movie-making and indie movie-making are total opposites. Is this true? I have only one concern: How do independent filmmakers make money?

Getting direct integration into many game engines and 3d modeling environments is on our list of priorities, though at this time we don't have any details on release plans for these.

I am looking for a website for Indie Filmmakers as well as fans of Indie Films where filmmakers can go to upload or submit their film and fans can go to watch them. Does a website like this exist?
