It does seem to have several things better, or simply more, than the Hydra; but from what i've seen so far in a few important aspects the Hydra still beats it.

The Leonar3Do, from my perspective, isn't a competing product to the Razer Hydra. It seems to be designed for art and the technology used is completely different. The Razer Hydra brings immersion via motion controllers while the Leonar3Do immerses the user with virtual reality. From my view, it seems that both would complement each other. Competition-wised, both are geared towards totally different groups. One is a relatively perfected technology designed for gamers and developers while the other is a new technology designed to bring interest within another realm of reality.

They both involve technologies to track the position and rotation of the hand to interact with PC software; Leonar3Do seems to spread it's focus to many different aspects of human-VR interaction while the Hydra puts all efforts on the hands. Once their price gets closer to the Hydra's people that would be thinking of buying the Hydra for gaming, art or whatever will also be considering Leonar3Do as an option and will be subjectively weighting the pros and cons of each product to decide which to buy (and with people that got lots of money to spare, the two products are already competing; and in many cases Leonar3Do is beating the Hydra, even if just due to marketing).

I'd love to have both; the Hydra for gaming and the Leonar3Do for art and design. I already have a Hydra, obviously.

I see immense potential for art in the Hydra, pretty much all it needs is software and perhaps some good marketing to make artists and developers aware of it and it's potential IMO.

The Hydra needs more advertisement. Quick, someone pump out a TF2 montage.

Its true, a lot of people don't know about it, or realize the hydra's been released yet!
The best way to advertise it would be to get some pro-Esports players using the Hydra. ideally competitive play (and winning of course). TF2 might be a good place to start because there are clear advantages imo that the hydra gives players over kb/mouse players, so perhaps sixense/razer/valve should get one of these big TF2 teams playing with the hydra via sponsorship? later get CS:GO pro teams using it and you're golden. Get the "pros" onside, and us mere mortals will follow.
There you go sixense - you can have that strategy for free.
